Christianity As Mystical Fact
GA 8
The book Christianity as Mystical Fact is the written elaboration of a series of 24 lectures given by Rudolf Steiner from October 1901 to April 1902 at the Berlin Theosophical Library at the invitation of Cay Lorenz, Count von Brockdorff, and Sophie, Countess von Brockdorff. (see GA 87. Ancient Mysteries and Christianity)
The first edition of 1902, entitled Christianity as a Mystical Fact, was followed in 1910 by a second, revised and expanded edition with the expanded title Christianity as a Mystical Fact and the Mysteries of Antiquity. The third and fourth editions in 1910 were unchanged reprints of the second. For the fifth edition (planned for 1921 by the publisher “Der Kommende Tag A.G.” Stuttgart; published in 1925 by Philosophisch-Anthroposophischer Verlag Dornach), Rudolf Steiner revised and expanded the text once again. This last edition by Rudolf Steiner forms the basis for all subsequent editions.
