Exploring dreams, fantasy, memory, and perception, Steiner develops here a remarkable, experiential path to higher knowledge. It is a very concentrated work that can be studied over and over.
The four essays presented here were written during October and November of 1923. In the Collected Edition of Rudolf Steiner's works, the volume containing the German texts is entitled Der Goetheanumgedanke inmitten der Kulturkrisis der Gegenwart 1921–1925. (Vol. 36 in the Bibliographic Survey, 1961). They were translated from the German by Samuel Borton and edited by Alan Howard and Gisela O'Neil.
