Oberuferer Paradise Play
Adam and Eve
[The tree singer says:]
I love my singers when they come in a friendly way,
Today there is a story of greater joy and honor;
They are sitting here before the Holy Mass,
which wants to be heard carefully and wistfully.
That is why they are standing in a circle around me;
they should leave the people with their singing.
My dear singers, please make the people happy with your eyes,
That they build the people up well,
And make sure that singing is good,
And a heartfelt voice and words.
But first we want to greet the great ones,
Who have found their way into this hall today.
We greet God the Father on his highest throne;
And we greet his only Son;
And we greet the Holy Ghost, too,
Who shows our souls the true way;
And we greet the whole Holy Trinity:
The Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost in Unity.
We greet Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden,
Where we would all like to enter.
And we greet all the trees and the animals
As many as there are in Paradise.
And we also greet very finely
The wonderful large and resounding birds;
We greet the whole firmament,
Which the dear Lord has placed at the end of the world. —
We greet the officials appointed by him;
We greet the master today as always.
We also greet the clergy,
Without whom we may not play.
We greet the mayor, with honor,
With all his complaints in the best way possible;
For the dear Lord has provided this,
If he likes it so much.
And now, my dear singers, let us sing once more,
In the middle of it stands a tree;
No human being may eat from it,
If he wants to keep the right attitude:
We want to greet the tree,
And all the fruits that hang on it.
Eve, the wicked one, ate of them,
And Adam, the foolish man.
They were expelled from God;
We are told this every day. —
We don't greet the devil,
whom our dear God protects from us;
We want to pull his tail,
and pull out all his hair.
My dear singers have all heard it,
What they once did in Paradise. —
Now we greet our teacher well
And greet our good teacher Muot,
With whom our rough voices
Fine, without much beating, could be right. —
So, my dear singers have heard it
What an old friend of ours desires.
The company enters singing:
I want to sing from the bottom of my heart,
because it gives my soul,
Lord, put my words in my mouth,
so that I may praise you!
for thou art my God
I will speak differently,
who has created all things
and rules according to his counsel,
now always praise God!
A tree in the middle of the forest;
it bore precious fruit;
which in the forbidden love of God:
they should not eat of it
from the tree's trunk,
should be idle.
The tree should be life:
therefore God does not want
that they eat of it.
They Leave.
The Angel Gabriel Appears:
I enter here in all humility,
God grant you a good evening,
a good evening and a happy time,
given to us by the Lord of heaven.
Gracious, wise and generous lords
and virtuous women in all things,
until I want to annoy you,
a little while to hear us,
namely, from Adam and Eve,
how they were struck out of paradise.
If you want to hear it in good silence,
keep quiet and listen to us carefully.

1. How chilly the morning seems to us,
the sun is hidden.
We praise God already
in the highest throne.
2. We come from Babylon, therefore
and sing to you all with joy.
We praise God already
in the highest throne.
3. When God in his glory floats
he created all that lives there.
We praise God already

4. Yes, all the animals together and wild,
then he created the image of man.
We praise God already

5. In the beginning God created all things,
the earth and also the heavenly ring.

on it two great lights stand.

7. One is the day, the other is night,
which God has made very well.

Company Remain standing. God, Adam step forward.
Lord God speaks:
Adam, accept the living breath
you received with the date!
accept reason, and consider
that I have made you out of the earth.
Now, Adam, begin to live
and tread on your feet evenly!
Tell me, Adam, how you fare,
the new world with its adornment and adornment?
Are you not amazed at the whole earth?
or the beautiful shine of the sun?
or the shape of the firmament?
Tell me, Adam, how you like it,
for I am very eager to know.
Adam says:
Oh Lord, it is for the very best
that your divine majesty created me.
Your divine counsel also created me

and know from the bottom of my heart
to live according to your divine will,
for you have created me just
on earth according to your image and likeness.
Lord God says:
Adam, all the animals were right,
I give them into your power,
that they may serve you in many ways,
together with the mountains of the earth and the crevices
and also together with the little birds in the air,
as well as the fish in the rivers,
that is my creation here together.
I share my kingdom with you,
you shall be called Lord forever.
In the garden you shall have wide space,
I give you power over all the trees.
Yet thereupon hang many fine fruits,
which you may eat according to your desire,
for your precious food
here in paradise.
Yet I, Almighty God,
give you only one commandment,
namely, of the tree of good and evil
that grows in the middle,
(which is the best in the middle)
you shall not eat from it.
But if you dare
to eat from the forbidden tree,
you shall die the death of the eving,
suddenly afterwards you may even perish.
Note that I am your God,
who gave you life and death
and can also take it again.
Company Sings:
9. Adam recognizes his creator,
who has given everything and everyone.
We praise God
in the highest throne.
10. He gave us all the fruit with diligence
here in a delicious meal.
We praise God
in the highest throne.
11. Only one tree is excepted
so that it would not come to harm.

12. The tree should know good and evil,
God says: keep this in your heart.

13. God let fall a sleep so deep
Lord God says:
I took a rib from Adam's body.
From it I created Adam a wife.
Adam, wake up and get up soon,
here you have your equal to ch.
She is at the same time from your body,
a helper, she is your wife,
she is at the same time from your ribs
therefore you shall love her duly.
My angel protect you on all your ways.
My blessing be upon you always.
Be fruitful, fill the earth
with what it needs shall become you.
Only remain obedient to me always.
Adam says:
Lord, I am ready for that,
for you have given me now
all creatures and my life too.
Look, Eve, how lovely it is
to live here in paradise,
which the Lord has given us
to live in paradise,
And we have only one commandment,
which our Lord has given us.
Just listen to the little birds singing
and see the little animals jumping around.
Many beautiful trees and meadows
are left to us here,
to eat wherever we want,
there is only one tree we should avoid,
which is the best, as written in the middle
we should not eat of it at all.
And if we dare to eat
from the forbidden tree,
we shall die the sudden death of death
suddenly thereafter, we shall perish.
Hereby we recognize our God,
who gave us life and death
and can also take it again.
Companie:
15. They were now full of glory,
everything was ready for their service.
We praise God already
in the highest throne.
16. As soon as the devil realized it,
he came secretly sneaking in.
We praise God already in the highest throne.
17. In a serpentine way
he entered paradise.
We praise God already
in the highest throne.
Devil speaks:
I come into paradise
sneaked in a serpentine way.
God has created two persons
and has adorned them so beautifully
and has put them in his house:
but I will see how I get them out.
That is why I come into paradise
I judge that it eats from the food.
Why from the other fruits all
can eat according to your discretion?
And from this tree alone
the fruit should be forbidden?
Adam eats of the fruit rich,
so you will be equal to your Lord.
Therefore, O Eve, take the apple
and eat it according to your heart's desire
and give some to Adam as well.
Company sings:
18. She broke the apple from the branch
and gave some to Adam's wife.
We praise God already
in the highest throne.
Eva Spricht:
I am your wife and you are my husband.
I beg you just look at the tree:
it bears the most beautiful fruit
I have never tasted before.
I want to taste it to see what
(It) tastes like.
So I should tell the truth
The fruit tastes good to my heart.
I beg you, you should also try it,
If you love me, take it in!
It tastes so delicious.
Adam says:
So I shall eat of the apple
I eat it at your request
For my sake, I do not eat it.
Company sings:
19. She also gave some to Adam,
and his eyes were opened.
We praise God already
in the highest throne.
20. And when he ate, at that hour
the whole world was wounded.
We praise God already

Devil says:
I am called the devil,
I am well known to the people.
I give the people their sin
I say it is very little:
the man should hang himself,
the woman should drown herself:
so that their torture will be over.
Just as I deceived Adam and Eve
and lied to both of them,
that they broke God's commandment
and ate what God forbade.
Oh right, oh right, such a trick!
I wouldn't give such an apple for a little bit of money.
had Adam and Eve eaten clover
it would have been a thousand times more useful.

Adam says:
Oh, how my heart has changed!
Oh woman, I have done a very evil deed
by following you.
Now I see the naked sword before me:
I am naked and bare throughout.
Oh woman, we have sinned greatly.
God says:
Adam, where are you, come here to me!
Adam says:
O Lord, here I am,
I am ashamed before your eyes.God says:
Why are you ashamed?
Adam says:
Because I broke your commandment.
Lord God says:
Do you think you will go unpunished
because I forbade you only that tree?
Tell me, Adam, who told you to do it.
Adam said:
Oh Lord, I swear by my life,
the Eve you gave me as my wife
gave me such fruit to eat:
yes, I would not have dared to do so.
An apple she broke from the tree
and bit into it so that I would see it
and so broke your commandment
from this moment you come, Lord God.
Lord God says:
Where is the woman who has done this.
Adam says:
Oh Lord, here she is standing under the tree.
Lord God says:
Eve, tell me!
why did you do that?
Eve says:
Oh Lord, the snake incited me to do it,
so that I was the last to
eat from the forbidden tree.
Oh Lord, we no longer want to do that.
Lord God says:
Gabriel, where art thou? Come to me!
I give thee the flaming sword
that thou mayest drive Adam and Eve
from the garden of Eden.
By my power and his,
they shall never enter it again.
Company sings:
21. Then came an angel so white
and drove them out of paradise.
We praise God already
in the highest throne.
Angel says:
I have received a command
from the Most High God
that I shall command Adam and Eve
to expel you from paradise.
So now leave paradise
and till the field with all your might!
And you, Adam, in fear and need
shall you gain your bread with sweat
and you, Eve, with pain
shall you bear children under your heart.
Eve says:
Oh, woe is me, poor woman,
that I must build this misery!
Must it be, then, since we have
commanded it by Almighty God
and follow His teachings completely.
Adam says:
My dear wife, come here!
Oh God, when shall we come against you?
I beg my God to call us soon against you!
Angel says:
So go down out of the garden!
I will call you slowly against you.
Eve says:
I beg my God you will not leave me.
Angel says:
Eve, you must not doubt!
Follow your husband, raise your child,
and God will forgive you all your sins.
Company sings:
22. So Adam and Eve were cast out of paradise
.
We praise God already
in the highest throne.
Devil says:
I have deceived the two persons,
have lied them out of paradise.
But I will see where I can find them
and bind them together with my chains.
Lord judge, I cry out and scream
about Adam and Eve, the two evildoers,
because they broke your commandment
I know it will not go unheeded.
because they have pushed
into the sinful world
which pleases me perfectly well
I'll be there day and night
where misfortune is always present
I'll be there, front and back,
and when I'm there, hell will have no peace.
I will be equally brave
and make them sweat with me at the same time.
The Lord says:
Begone, Satan, you hellhound!
I know not what grievous word
Dust and dirt shall be your food
and to the other beasts
you shall crawl on your belly.
See here how Adam has grown so rich:
he has become equal to a god,
he knows evil and also good,
since he lifts up his hands
and lives accordingly forever.
Company Singing Afterwards:
O holy trinity,
o divine reign,
death, devil and hell,
you have all separated
and have eternal life
given to us all again.
Be praised forever!
God, who knows all our thoughts
he wants to give us his kingdom.
Angel says:
Dear, kind, generous lords,
as well as virtuous women and maidens in particular,
please do not expose us to evil
because you have heard our play about how
God created all things
men according to his divine counsel
created them in his image, in the image of God, male and female,
and placed them in the garden of Eden.
But the serpent tempted Adam and Eve,
and they broke God's commandment
and ate of the fruit of the tree that God had forbidden them,
and so transgressed God's commandment.
thereby they came into anguish and need
and ultimately damned to eternal death,
until out of mercy the merciful God
sent his only son into the world
as a ransom.
He does not want us to do evil
but give us the reason
if we have done something wrong here
and not kept the right honor:
each of us considers the best!
so we wish a good night from God Almighty.

Dö sie heunt hob’n eing’fund’n in dem Saale.
Grüass’n ma God Vodar im höchsten Thron;
Und grüass’n ma a sein einiga Sohn;

Der unsern Seelen dö wahren Wege weist;
Und grüass’n ma dö ganzi halige Dreifaltigkeit:
Den Voda, den Sohn und den Geist in da Einigkeit.

Singen wil ich aus herzens grund,
weils gibt das gemüte mein,
o herr, gib mirs in meinen mund,
das komt zum lobe dein!
denn du bist doch mein Got
red ich än’ allen spot,
der alle ding erschaffen hat
und regiert nach seinem rat,
nun preiset imer Got!
Ein baume in der mitten stôt;
der trug köstliche frücht;
den in verbot der liebe Got:
sie solten davon nicht
essen von baumes stam,
solten sein müeßig gan.
Der baum solt sein das leben:

dass sie essen davon.

Der Engel Gabriel Tritt Auf:
Ich trit herein ân’ allen spot,
ein schön gutn abend geb euch Got,

die uns der herr von himel geit.
Ersame, wolweise, großgünstige herrn
und tugendsame fraun in allen ern,
bit wolt euch nit verdrießn lan,
eine kleine weil uns hören an
nämlich von Adam und Eva weis,
wie s’ wurden geschlagn aus dem paradeis.
Wenn irs wolt hörn in guter rua,
schweigt still und hört uns fleißig zua.

1. Wie küel scheint uns der morgen,
die sonne leit verborgen.
Got loben wir schon
im höchsten thron.
2. Wir komen daher von Babilon
und singen euch all mit freuden an.

3. Als Got in seiner herlichkeit schwebt
erschuf er alle was da lebt.

darnach schuf er des menschen bild.

Herr Got Spricht:
Adâm, nim an den lebendigen atem,
den du empfangest mit dem Datem!
nim an Vernunft, dabei betracht,
daß ich dich hab aus erdn gemacht.
Nun, Adam, fange an zu lebn
und trit auf deine füße ebn!
Sag an, Adam, wie gefalt es dir,
die neue welt mit ir schmuck und zier?
Verwundert dich nicht der erden ganz?
oder der schönen sonnen glanz?
oder des firmaments gestalt?
Sag an, Adâm, wie’s dir gefalt,
denn ichs von herzen gerne west.
Adam Spricht:
O herr, es ist aufs allerbest
was schuf dein götlich majestat.
Mich schuf auch dein götlicher rat
daß ich erkenn mein höchstes gut
und weiß aus meines herzens mut
nach dein’ götlichen willn zu lebn,
denn du hast mich erschaffen ebn
auf erdn nach deiner bildnuss zier.
Herr Got Spricht:
Adâm nim war recht alle tier,
die gib ich dir in deine gewalt,
daß sie dir dienen mannigfalt,
samt dem gebirg der erd und klüften
auch samt den vöglein in den lüften,
wie auch den fischen in wassers strom,
das ist mein geschepf hier alzusam.
Ich teil mit dir mein regiment,
ein herr solst heißen ewig genent.
Im garten solst haben weiten raum,
ich gib dir gewalt über alle baum’,
daron doch vil schön früchten hangen,
die magst du essen nach dein’verlangen,
dir z’einer kostbarlichen speis
alhier wol in dem paradeis.
Doch wil ich almächtiger Got
dir geben nur ein einzigs gebot,
nämlich vom baum des bös-und-gut
der in der mitte wachsen tut,
(der ist der best steht in der mitt)
von dem solst du ja essen nit.
Wirst du dich aber so vermessen
von dem verbotten baum’ zu essen,
so solst d’ des ewing todes sterbn,
plötzlich hernach wol gar verderbn.
Hierbei merk daß ich bin dein Got,
der dir das leben und den tod
hat gebn und kans auch wieder nemen.
Companie Singt:
9. Adam erkennt sein schepfer ebn,
der alls und jedes hät gegebn.
Got loben wir schon
im höchsten thron.
10. Er gab im alle frucht mit fleiß
alhier z’ einer köstlichen speis.
Got loben wir schon
im höchsten thron.
11. Nur éin baum der wird ausgenomen
daß er nicht möcht zu schaden komen.
Got loben wir schon
im höchsten thron.
12. Der baum solt wissen bös und gut,
Got spricht: das behalt in deinem mut.

13. Got ließ falln ein schlaf so tief
wol auf den Adam und er schlief.
Got loben wir schon

14. Ein rieben nam er aus Adams leib
daraus schuf er Adâm ein weib.
Got loben wir schon
im höchsten thron.
Herr Got Spricht:
Ein rieben nam ich aus Adams leib.
draus schâf ich dir Adâm ein weib.
Adâm erwach und bald aufsteh,
hier hast du deines gleichen zur ch.
Sie ist zugleich aus deinem leib,
ein mitgehilfin, sie ist dein weib,
sie ist zugleich aus deinen rieben
darum solst du sie billich lieben.
Mein engel beschütz euch auf allen wegn.
über euch sei alle zeit mein segn.
Mert euch, seit fruchtbar, erfüllt die erdn,
was ir bedürft das sol euch werdn.
Bleibt nur in mein gehorsam alzeit.
Adam Spricht:
Herr, dazu bin ich bereit,
denn du hast mir jetztund gebn
al creatur dazu auch mein lebn.
Sieh an, Eva, wie lieblicher weis
ist hier zu wonen im Paradeis,
welches uns der lieb herr Got hat gebn
an alle mü und arbeit zu lebn.
Und haben nur ein einzig gebot,
welchs uns gegebn hat unser Got.
Ei höre nur die vöglein singen
und sieh die tierlein herum springen.
viel schöne baum’ an’ mäßen
sind hier uns überläßen,
davon zu essen wo wir wolln,
nur einen baum wir meiden solln,
der ist der best, steht in der mitt
davon solln wir jä essen nit.
Und so wir uns wern vermessen
vom verbotten’ baum zu essen
solln wir des ewing todes sterben
plötzlich hernach wol gar verderben.
Hierbei erkenn wir unsern Got
der uns das leben und den tod
hat gebn und kans auch wieder nemen.
Companie:
15. Sie warn nun vol der herlichkeit,
alls war zu irem dienst bereit.
Got loben wir schon
im höchsten thron.
16. Alsbald der teufel es inne wâr
kom er heimlich geschlichen dar.
Got loben wir schon im höchsten thron.
17. In einer schlangen weise
wol in das paradeise.
Got loben wir schon
im höchsten thron.
Teufel Spricht:
Ich kom herein ins paradeis
geschlichen in einer schlangen weis.
Got hat erschaffen zwo person
und hat s’ geziert so wunderschon
und hat s’ gesetzet in sein haus:
aber ich wil schaun wie ich’s bring heraus.
Drum kom ich in das paradeis
ich richt dass’s essen von der speis.
Warum von den andern früchten alln
derfens essen nach irm wolgefalln?
und von disem baum allein
soll die frucht verboten sein?
Adam ißt du von der frucht reich,
so wirst du deinem herrn gleich.
Drum, rosichi Eva, nim den apfel zu dir
und iß jâ nach dein’s Herzens begier
und gib dem Adam auch davon.
Companie Singt:
18. Sie brach den apfel von dem zweig
und gab in z’ essen Adams weib.
Got loben wir schon
im höchsten thron.
Eva Spricht:
Ich bin dein weib und du mein man.
ich bitt schau nur den baume an:
er tragt die allerschönste frucht
desgleichen ich hab nie versucht.
Ich will in kosten wie er schmeckt
(Tut Es).
So ich die warheit sagen sol
schmeckt mir die frucht vom herzen wol.
Ich bitt du wellst auch kosten in,
hast du mich lieb so nim in hin!
Er schmecket so fürtrefflich wol.
Adam Spricht:
So ich den apfel essen sol,
so iß ich in durch deine bitt
um meinethalbn iß ich in nit.
Companie Singt:
19. Sie gab dem Adam auch davon
da wurden seine augen aufgetan.
Got loben wir schon
im höchsten thron.
20. Und als er aße, zu der stund
da ward die ganze welt verwundt.
Got loben wir schon
im höchsten thron.
Teufel Spricht:
Ich bin der ehteufel genant,
den chleuten bin ich gar wolbekant.
Ich gib den chleuten iren sin
ich spriche, es sei gar gering:
der man sol sich derhenken,
das weib sol sich dertränken:
damit komens ir marter ab.
Gleichwie ich Adam und Eva hab betrogn
und hab in’ beiden vorgelogn,
daß sie haben brochen Gottes gebot
und geßen was in Got verbot.
O recht, o recht eim solchen ratzen!
ein solchen apfel gib ich nit um ein batzen
hätten Adam und Eva kletzen gfressen
’s wär in tausendmal nützer gwesen.
[durch meine list und] frozerei
[hab ich solchs zuwegn bracht frei.]
Adam Spricht:
Ach wie ist mir mein gemüt verwandelt!
o weib, ich hab ser übel gehandelt,
daß ich hab gefolget dir.
Jetzt siech ich das bloße schwert vor mir:
bin gänzlich nackend und auch bloß.
O weib, wir habn uns versündigt groß.
Herr Got Spricht:
Adam, wo bist, kom her zu mir!
Adam Spricht:
O herr, hier bin ich,
vor dein augen schäm ich mich.Herr Got Spricht:
Warum schämst du dich?
Adam Spricht:
Weil ich hab dein gebot gebrochen.
Herr Got Spricht:
Meinst du, es bleibt dir ungerochen,
dieweil ich dir den baum allein verbot?
sag an Adam, wer dirs geheißen hat.
Adam Spricht:
Ach herr, ich schwer bei meinem lebn,
die Eva, die du mir zum weib hast gebn,
die gab mir solche frucht zu essen:
jâ hett ich mich des nit vermeßen.
Ein apfel sie vom baume brach
und biß darein daß ich es sach
und brach also dein gebot
von stund an kombst du herre Got.
Herr Got Spricht:
Wo ist das weib die dis hat tan.
Adam Spricht:
O herr, hier tut sie unterm baume stahn.
Herr Got Spricht:
Eva, sag an!
warum häst du das getan?
Eva Spricht:
Ach herr die schlang hat mich dazu gehetzt,
auf daß ich hab al zu der letzt
geßen von dem verbotten baum.
Ach herr, das welln wir nit mer tan.
Herr Got Spricht:
Engel Gabriel, wo bist? komm her zu mir!
das bloße schwert das gib ich dir
auf daß du Adam und Eva weis
solst schlagen aus dem Paradeis:
durch mein gewalt kraft und er,
darein sie komen nimmermehr.
Companie Singt:
21. Es kam ein engel also weiß
und schlug sie aus dem paradeis.
Got loben wir schon
im höchsten thron.
Engel Spricht:
Ich hab empfangen ein gebot
wol von dem allerhöchsten Got
daß ich Adam und Eva weis
sol schlagen aus dem paradeis.
So geht nun aus dem paradeis
und baut das feld mit allem fleiß!
und du Adam in angst und not
in schweiß gewinnen solst dein brot
und du Eva mit schmerzen
solst Kinder gebern unterm herzen.
Eva Spricht:
Ach weh mir armen frauen,
sol ich das ellend bauen!
muß es denn sein, so well wirs wagn
uns Got dem almächtigen befolen haben
und folgen gänzlich seiner ler.
Adam Spricht:
Mein liebes weib, so kom nur her!
ach Got, wann solln wir komen wider?
ich bitt mein Got ruf uns bald wider!
Engel Spricht:
So geht nun aus dem garten nider!
ich wil euch langsam rufen wider.
Eva Spricht:
Ich bitt mein Got du wellst mich nicht verlaßen.
Engel Spricht:
Eva, du solst kein zweifel fassen!
folg deinem mann, erzieh dein kind,
so verzeicht dir Got al deine sünd.
Companie Singt:
22. Alsô ward Adam und Eva weis
geschlagen aus dem paradeis.
Got loben wir schon
im höchsten thron.
Teufel Spricht:
Ich hab die zwo person betrogn,
hab s’ aus dem paradeis gelogn:
abr ich wil schaun wo ich sie kann finten
wils gleich mit meinen ketten zsambinten.
Herr richter, ich schrei rach und zeter
über Adam und Eva, die zwen übeltäter,
weil s’haben dein gebot gebrochen
ich weiß es bleibt nit ungerochen.
denn sie sind gestossen
In d’ sündliche Welt
Welches mir trefflich wolgefällt
Da bin ich tag und nacht dabei
wo allzeit Unglück vorhanden sei
da blos ich hinten und vorn zua
bei mir i da höllen da habens ka rua
Ich will gleich tapfer hitzen
dass sie mit mir zugleich schwitzen.
Herr Got Spricht:
Pack dich weg, Satan, du hellenhund!
weiß nit was für schändlich wort du hast laßen aus deinem mund.
Staub und erde sol dein speise sein,
und gegen der andern tiere brauch
solst du fortkriechen auf deinem bauch.
Sieh hier, wie ist Adam worden so reich:
einem Gortte ist er worden gleich,
er weiß das bös und auch das gut,
da er sein händ aufheben tut
und lebet danach ewiglich.
Companie Singt Hienaus:
O heilige dreifaltigkeit,
o götlichs regiment,
den tod, teufel und auch die hel,
die hast du al zertrennt
und hast das ewige leben
uns allen wieder geben.
Sei hochgelobt in ewigkeit!
Got der al unser gedanken weiß
er wil uns sein reich geben.
Engel Spricht:
Ersame, wolweise, großgünstige herrn,
wie auch tugendsame fraun und jungfraun in ern,
bitt wollt uns nicht vor übel han
weil ir unser gspil habt gehöret an,
wie got alle ding erschaffen hat
die menschen nach seinem göttlichen rat
hat’s erschaffen nockend und blos
nach seinem ebenbild aus einem erdenklos
Und hat sie in das paradeis gesetzt.
aber die Schlang hat Adam und Eva verhetzt
dass sie haben zerbrochen Gottes Gebot
Und assen was ihna Gott verboten hot
Und hoben also Gottes Gebot übertreten.
dadurch sind sie kommen in ongst und nöten
auch letztlich verdommt zum ewigen tod,
bis aus gnod der barmherzig God
seinen eingebornen son hot in die Welt
gesandt als Lösegeld.
wollts uns zum argen nicht auslegn
sonder unserm unverstand die ursach gebn
wenn wir etwas gefelet hier
und nicht gehalten die rechte zier:
ein jedweder das best betracht!
so wünschen wir von Got dem almächtigen eine gute nacht.
