The Inner Nature of Man and Life Between Death and Rebirth II
GA 153

The Inner Nature of the Human Being and Life between Death and a New Birth, of which these three lectures are newly added in English here as Volume II), is the last major lecture cycle that Rudolf Steiner gave before the outbreak of the First World War. On March 31, 1914, just a few days before the start of the Vienna lectures, the poet Christian Morgenstern died in Meran. The funeral service, at which Rudolf Steiner delivered the eulogy, took place in Basel on April 4, and Steiner traveled to Vienna immediately afterwards. On April 10, a memorial service for Christian Morgenstern was added to the Vienna program before the cycle lecture (printed in 'Unsere Totem', GA 261).
