To Marie von Sivers in Berlin

Graz, November 10, 1907
My darling! You shall receive at least a few lines from here. I will tell you how things went from here. Thank you very much for your letters, which contain so many pleasant things and also tell so many stories. Even if I leave Klagenfurt at 12:09 a.m. on Monday, which is tomorrow, I won't be in Berlin until 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a direct connection. And that will be with a train that doesn't go through Dresden at all, but through Silesia. According to the timetable, the fastest train wouldn't get me to Dresden before 7 o'clock on Tuesday morning. And that's completely unpredictable. Trains are no longer allowed to run between Prague and Bodenbach because the line is damaged in six places, and all trains are running with delays of one to one and a half hours. I arrived in Prague with a delay like that.
The Munich ladies 39 are also here and are also going to Klagenfurt.
It is now 7 o'clock in the morning. You have to leave at 8:15 if you want to arrive at a reasonable time in the Alpine nest of Klagenfurt, the capital of Carinthia.
Oh, if only my dear darling were there. The countryside on either side of the railroad is vast and beautiful; but the people - - -
All my warmest regards to his darling Rdlf.
