I. On the Root-Races of Atlantians and Aryans

For the relationship was a much closer one than it is now, when the separation is complete. Just as people were still able to control fire through their Kama, to draw fire out of stone, they could misuse fire to destroy themselves. The downfall of Lemuria was caused by the misuse of fire in its connection with the kamic element. Sin meant much more then than it did later.
When the Kama had become more and more isolated, resulting in a soul that was more and more withdrawn into itself, the Atlantean race emerged. But the prana was still in the same context, and the Atlanteans were able to use this power, were able to apply the germinating power to industrial endeavors. The first races, the Rmoahals and the Tlavatlis, still possessed the magic word, the mantra-like sounds developed by the Lemurians, which had a direct effect on the forces of life. When language came more to the fore, knowledge of the magic word was gradually lost. During the Toltec race, it had less and less effect on the outside world. However, some retained it as an art.
In the past, people paid less attention to this control over life. Now some wanted to systematize this, and in a sense they also obtained mastery over death. The patriarchal age known to us from the Bible is based on the art of prolonging human life to an extraordinary degree. This thus became an art; and in the case of the fourth, the Turanian sub-race, it led to a terrible black magic, inasmuch as life has an occult connection with everything that is an aqueous element. It was this source material that the Atlanteans used to gain such high mastery over; they had the same power over it as the Lemurians had over fire, and in this way their downfall was also brought about by water. There is a deep macrocosmic connection between nature and man. Thus, the fauna and flora are also different depending on the root races and sub-races. For example, in the case of the fourth sub-race of the Aryans - in which the ideal, Romanesque Christianity arose - the fauna and flora that still remained corresponded to those countries. The materialistic Germanic race, in turn, has its own. Appearance depends on what a person develops within themselves. Today, people are not yet aware of this; they control nothing but what their minds control. During the sixth sub-race, however, they will learn again to control the power of life; during the seventh, they will learn to control fire, the inner fire, the kundalini fire, which only the adept now controls. During the fifth sub-race of the Atlanteans, the pre-Semitic one, the mind had been established, as we know, through the former branching of certain animals, the ungulates, the horse. The capacity for logic, for combination, for personal right-mindedness arises; personal conflict arises, arises, arising from the opposition of convictions and opinions; the special being that finds its external expression in the fifth, the Aryan root race. This is a necessary point of passage; but it is natural that this will also lead to the downfall of the fifth root race. Through the war of all against all, the Aryans will perish, as once the Atlanteans perished through water and the Lemurians through fire.
Man was not yet able to guide this intellect himself, so the leading Manu was still a supermundane one. The group that was led into the Gobi and Shamo deserts was now singled out, namely by the Ursemites. Above all, this group was to have pure bodies, so that a selected plant diet was ordered by the Manu. This is the origin of the decadent food laws that still remain. But the Manu's intention was, above all, to leave people free – to leave them to the influence of a luciferically educated priesthood. When the Masters are openly acknowledged as the leaders of humanity, the sixth sub-race will emerge. The seventh sub-race will actually perish. The uniformly divine is recognized and worshipped. Through the mind, which reaches up to Devachan, the Devas were first recognized and worshiped. The Vedas are only later formations; they originated at the time when the third sub-race was already present. Of the original Rishi religion there are only traditions. It is a repetition of what the Lemurians still instinctively felt; the unified religion is here relived with the mind.
The dualistic [religion], with the separation into good and evil, was a repetition of what had been experienced by the Atlanteans and was relived in the consciousness of the Persians.
In the third sub-race, the result of the monistic and dualistic religions emerges: the Trinity - the service of Osiris and Mithras. It is only from the third race onwards that three Logoi are recognized. Under this influence, the Indian Trinity was also formed. The child is personified for the first time in Horus. The personal is now possible, in which Christ immerses himself. God appears under the mask of man. The Trinity becomes the three persons.
In the fifth sub-race, everyone wants to decide for themselves, the poly-personality asserts itself, the culmination of which takes place in the French Revolution. Liberty, equality, fraternity are the guiding abstract ideas that replace the gods.

Was warmblütiges Kama eigentlich bedeutet, verstehen wir, wenn wir den Gegenpol dazu suchen, denn in der Natur entsteht alles polarisch. Während sich das Kama für den Menschen - in der Mitte der lemurischen Rasse - absonderte, musste draußen in der Welt auch etwas entstehen; dieses andere ist das natürliche Feuer, das Feuer draußen in der Welt. Die beiden stehen daher in okkultem Zusammenhang, und der kamische Missbrauch im Menschen bedeutete eine Störung im feurigen Element der Erde. Denn die Verwandtschaft war eine viel innigere als jetzt, wo die Sonderung vollkommen ist. Grad so, wie die Menschen durch ihr Kama noch imstande waren das Feuer zu bändigen, Feuer aus dem Stein hervorzulocken, konnten sie das Feuer so missbrauchen, dass es sie vernichtete. Der Untergang Lemuriens wurde hervorgerufen durch Missbrauch des Feuers in seinem Zusammenhang mit dem kamischen Element. So bedeutete die Sünde damals viel mehr als später.
Als das Kama sich immer mehr abgesondert hatte, eine immer mehr ins Innere zurückgezogene Seele die Folge war, da entstand die atlantische Rasse. - Das Prana war aber noch im selben Zusammenhang, und die Atlantier konnten diese Kraft benutzen, konnten die Keimkraft zu industriellen Unternehmungen verwenden. Die ersten Rassen, die Rmoahals und die Tlavatlis, waren noch im Besitze des Zauberworts, der von den Lemuriern ausgebildeten mantraähnlichen Laute, die eine unmittelbare Wirkung über die Kräfte des Lebens hatten. Als die Sprache mehr heraufkam, ging die Kenntnis des Zauberworts allmählich verloren. Während der Toltekenrasse bekam es immer weniger Wirkung auf die Außenwelt. Einige jedoch erhielten sich das als Kunst.
Früher hatten die Menschen weniger geachtet auf diese Herrschaft über das Leben: Jetzt wollten einige dies systematisieren, und in gewissem Sinne erhielten sie auch die Herrschaft über den Tod. Das uns aus der Bibel bekannte Patriarchenalter begründet sich auf der Kunst, das menschliche Leben in außerordentlichem Maße zu verlängern. Dies wurde also Kunst; und bei der vierten, der turanischen Unterrasse führte es zu einer furchtbaren schwarzen Magie, insofern als das Leben einen okkulten Zusammenhang hat mit allem, was wässriges Element ist. Diese Quellmaterie war es, über welche die Atlantier sich eine so hohe Herrschaft erwarben; sie hatten über sie dieselbe Kraft, wie die Lemurier über das Feuer, und auf diese Art wurde auch der Untergang durch das Wasser herbeigeführt. Es ist ein tiefer makrokosmischer Zusammenhang zwischen der Natur und dem Menschen. So sind auch die Fauna und die Flora verschieden je nach den Wurzelrassen und Unterrassen, beispielsweise bei der vierten Unterrasse der Arier - in der das idealische, romanische Christentum entstand — entsprach die Fauna und Flora, die noch übrig geblieben ist, jenen Ländern. Die materialistisch germanische Rasse hat wiederum die ihre. Das Äußere ist abhängig von dem, was der Mensch in seinem Innern entfaltet. Das ist ihm heute noch nicht bewusst; jetzt beherrscht er nichts, als was sein Verstand beherrscht. Während der sechsten Rasse wird er aber wieder lernen, die Lebenskraft zu beherrschen; während der siebenten das Feuer, das innere, das Kundalini-Feuer, das jetzt nur der Adept beherrscht. Während der fünften Unterrasse der Atlantier, der ursemitischen, war — wie wir wissen — durch einstige Abzweigung gewisser Tiere, der Huftiere, des Pferdes, der Verstand begründet worden. Es entsteht die Anlage zur Logik, zur Kombination, zum persönlichen Rechthaben; der persönliche Streit entsteht, kommt auf, der dem Gegensatz der Überzeugungen und Meinungen entspringt; das Sondersein, das in der fünften, der arischen Wurzelrasse, seinen äußeren Ausdruck findet. Dies ist ein notwendiger Durchgangspunkt; es ist aber natürlich, dass dies auch den Untergang der fünften Wurzelrasse herbeiführen wird. Durch den Krieg aller gegen alle werden die Arier zugrunde gehen, wie einst die Atlantier durch das Wasser und die Lemurier durch das Feuer.
Der Mensch war damals noch nicht imstande, diesen Verstand selbst zu leiten, daher war der führende Manu noch ein überirdischer. Ausgesondert wurde nun, namentlich von den Ursemiten, das Häuflein, das in die Wüste Gobi und Shamo geführt wird. Vor allen Dingen sollte dies Häuflein reine Körper haben, sodass eine ausgewählte Pflanzenkost von dem Manu angeordnet wurde. Daher stammen die noch übrig gebliebenen dekadenten Speisegesetze. Was der Manu bezweckte war aber, den Leuten vor allen Dingen Freiheit zu lassen - sie zu überlassen dem Einfluss einer luziferisch gebildeten Priesterschaft. Daher kam es, dass nur ein kleines Häuflein treu blieb, die andern abfielen. Daher sind die Entwicklungsstufen so verschieden. Der Meister unterscheidet sich dadurch von allen andern führenden Gewalten der Menschheit, dass er auf demselben Wege, nur schneller, die höchste Entwicklung erreicht.
Wenn die Meister als Führer der Menschheit offen bekannt sein werden, kommt die sechste Unterrasse auf. Die siebente Unterrasse wird eigentlich untergehen. Dagegen wird das kleine Häuflein ‹Homines religioses› gesammelt werden in die sechste Unterrasse, die das nötige Temperament dazu im Blute haben wird. Das damals treu gebliebene Häuflein war die Grundlage für die arische Rasse; daher die wunderbare, reine, glänzend spirituelle Lehre der nach Süden gezogenen indischen Unterrasse. Erkannt und angebetet wird das einheitlich Göttliche. Durch den zum Devachan hinaufreichenden Verstand wurden zuerst die Devas erkannt und angebetet. Die Veden sind erst spätere Ausbildungen; sie sind zu der Zeit entstanden, als die dritte Unterrasse schon da war. Von der ursprünglichen RishiReligion gibt es nur Traditionen. Sie ist eine Wiederholung dessen, was instinktiv noch die Lemurier empfunden haben; die einheitliche Religion wird hier mit dem Verstande noch einmal durchgemacht.
Die zweiheitliche [Religion], mit der Trennung in Gut und Böse, war eine Wiederholung des von den Atlantiern Erlebten und wurde im Bewusstsein von den Persern noch einmal durchgemacht.
In der dritten Unterrasse entsteht das Ergebnis der monistischen und dualistischen Religion, die Trinität - der Osirisdienst und Mithrasdienst. Erst von der dritten Rasse an werden drei Logoi erkannt. Unter diesem Einfluss hat sich auch die indische Trinität gebildet. Das Kind wird zum ersten Mal personifiziert in Horus. Das Persönliche ist nun möglich, in das sich Christus versenkt. Gott erscheint unter der Maske des Menschen. Die Dreifaltigkeit wird zu den drei Personen.
In der fünften Unterrasse will jeder selbst entscheiden, die Polypersonalität macht sich geltend, deren Höhepunkt in der französischen Revolution stattfindet. Freiheit, Gleichheit, Brüderlichkeit sind die leitenden abstrakten Ideen, die die Götter ersetzen.
