M.l.M. I am pleased to hear that things went well in Bremen too, despite the lack of lighting, and that Ms Hemsoth is taking good care of you. Today you are in Lübeck, according to the program. So there is still a performance in Hamburg on October 21. Interest seems to be very high, which is very encouraging.
I will continue to follow your work with the best thoughts I can send you.
As for myself, I can only say that things are slowly improving; I have to be satisfied with the fact that, in agreement with Wegman and Noll, I have happily come to the conclusion: today I look much better. So that is the case. But the daily treatment continues. The thing is that while it was certain that I should be in the Philharmonie Hall in Berlin, I will still have to be treated here.
But don't worry about anything else. I have to keep writing you this. The matter is not really in the style in which I actually want to live and work; but as far as care is concerned, everything is being done as it can be done. Mrs. Wegman gives all her time and energy; and Dr. Noll does everything possible to help us move forward.
So I send you my warmest thoughts. Thank you very much for the news from Hamburg and Bremen. I

M.l.M. Es freut mich, nun zu hören, dass es auch in Bremen trotz der mangelnden Beleuchtung gut gegangen ist, und dass sich Frau Hemsoth um Deine Versorgung die gute Mühe gibt. Heute bist Du nach dem Programm in Lübeck. So ist also noch am 21. Oktober eine Vorstellung in Hamburg. Das Interesse scheint in so erfreulicher Art groß zu sein.
Ich will weiter Deine Arbeit verfolgen mit den besten Gedanken, die ich Dir nur schicken kann.
Von mir kann ich nur sagen, dass es langsam geht; man muss schon darüber zufrieden sein, dass eben in Übereinstimmung Wegman und Noll freudig zu dem Ausspruche gekommen sind: heute sehe ich viel besser aus. Also das ist doch der Fall. Dabei aber dauert die tägliche Behandlung fort. Es ist die Sache so, dass während bestimmt war, dass ich in Berlin im Philharmoniesaal stehen sollte, ich werde hier noch behandelt werden müssen.
Aber mache Dir keine weiteren Sorgen. Das muss ich Dir immer wieder schreiben. Die Sache ist ja recht wenig in dem Stile, in dem ich eigentlich leben und arbeiten möchte; aber zur Pflege geschieht so alles, wie es nur geschehen kann. Frau Wegman gibt ja ihre ganze Zeit und Arbeitskraft; und Dr. Noll tut alles Mögliche, damit wir vorwärts kommen.
So schicke ich Dir die allerherzlichsten Gedanken - danke schön stens für die Nachrichten aus Hamburg und Bremen und
