M. l. M. You are probably in the middle of hard work on this. I am thinking of this activity, because otherwise I cannot do anything now, since, as I wrote to you, I am only “traveling” between bed, “comfortable” chair and bathroom. But my condition has improved considerably, even if everything is going slowly. You really have to have a lot of patience.
It was so nice when the Berlin telegram arrived reporting the good progress of the performance. Since then, however, I have heard nothing
from the aftermath of this performance. For example, nothing at all about whether those who, in printed judgment, serve up “the day” on everything, even what they have no idea about, have allowed themselves to be heard or not.
The fact that the youth has done all sorts of things has been reported here in dark messages. But I will wait to hear from you about it.
Steffen is very pleased that I have now written an essay about his “Viergetier” in the “Goetheanum”. The drama is indeed extraordinarily significant. I hope that you receive the “Goetheanum” properly.
In recent days, everyone has been demanding to know something about the reorganization of the Goetheanum; even to receive pictures. I have done as much as possible for this matter, given my reduced capacity for work. Everything that I do that comes entirely from me, such as writing this or that, is possible; but it is not easy to meet demands that come from outside. I still have to be very careful there. But I am too.
I hope that everything went well with Meyer and that he will get in touch when he needs money for petrol etc.

M. l. M. Du stehst wohl jetzt mitten in der schweren Arbeit darinnen. Ich gedenke dieser Tätigkeit, denn sonst kann ich jetzt nichts tun, da ich doch, wie ich Dir schrieb, nur zwischen Bett, «bequemen» Stuhl und Badezimmer «reise». Aber wesentlich gebessert ist doch mein Zustand, wenn auch alles langsam geht. Man muss da wirklich viel Geduld haben.
Es war so schön, als das Berliner Telegramm kam und den guten Verlauf der Vorstellung berichtete. Seither habe ich allerdings nichts
am m von der Nachwirkung dieser Vorstellung gehört. So z. B. gar nichts darüber, ob diejenigen, die alles, auch wovon sie gar keine Ahnung haben, in gedrucktem Urteil «dem Tage» servieren, sich haben vernehmen lassen, oder nicht.
Dass sich die «Jugend» allerlei geleistet hat, davon sind dunkle Nachrichten hieher gekommen. Doch ich will warten, bis ich von Dir darüber höre.
Steffen ist sehr befriedigt, dass ich nun einen Aufsatz über sein «Viergetier» im «Goetheanum» geschrieben habe. Das Drama ist tatsächlich außerordentlich bedeutend. Ich hoffe, dass Du das «Goetheanum» ordentlich zugesandt erhältst.
Alle Welt hat in den letzten Tagen verlangt, über die Neuformung des Goetheanums einiges zu wissen; sogar Bilder zu bekommen. Ich habe für diese Sache so viel gemacht, als — bei meiner reduzierten Arbeitskraft - möglich ist. Alles, was ich so tue, dass es ganz von mir ausgeht, z. B. dies oder jenes schreiben, geht; aber nicht leicht geht, Anforderungen nachzukommen, die von außen gestellt werden. Da muss ich noch recht vorsichtig sein. Aber ich bin es auch.
Ich hoffe, dass mit dem Meyer alles gut gegangen ist, und dass er sich meldet, wenn er Geld etwa für Benzin etc. braucht.
