I send you my warmest birthday wishes. On this day, I will think a lot about all the beautiful things that were and are in our work together and that now always come to mind so beautifully when I describe them. I can assure you that I describe this with love. [...]
And thank you for your telegrams and letters. I am glad that everything went so well. The ranting in the papers is certainly unbearable. But the main thing is that our organizers were not intimidated by this ranting, as unfortunately happened in Christiania. Your work is now so beneficial. Hopefully it will not affect you too much.

Herzlichste Geburtstagsgedanken sende ich Dir. Ich werde an diesem Tage viel denken an all das Schöne, das in unserer gemeinsamen Arbeit war und ist und das mir ja jetzt stets so schön vor das Seelenauge tritt, wenn ich es schildere. Ich kann Dir die Versicherung geben, ich schildere dies mit Liebe. [...]
Und habe Dank für Deine Telegramme und Briefe. Ich bin froh, dass alles so gut gegangen ist. Das Schimpfen der Blätter ist ja gewiss unausstehlich. Aber die Hauptsache wäre, dass sich unsere veranstaltenden Leute nicht durch dieses Geschimpfe einschüchtern liessen, wie es ja leider in Christiania geschehen ist. Dein Wirken ist jetzt ein so segensreiches. Hoffentlich greift es Dich nicht allzustark an.
