May my will be Thy Will.
Rudolf Steiner masterfully reconciles free will with the sovereignty of God.
The royal will within me grows ever stronger, and all obstacles will help me to make this will ever more royal. I will overcome the obstacles, and through this, my will will develop more and more, my energy will grow. The pettiness of life, all the inferiority of existence, will melt like frost in the sun, that sun which rises in wisdom, which permeates us in spiritual thought. Our emotional world will be warmed, incandescent, illuminated; our existence will expand, and we will feel blissfully enraptured within it.
If we repeat such moments and allow them to work within us, then a strengthening of our entire being in every direction will flow from them. Not overnight, but through the constant repetition of such thoughts, melancholy, lamentation about our fate, and a gloomy temperament will gradually fade away. Spiritual knowledge will be a remedy for our soul! And when it becomes this, when our existence expands in this way, then it plants in us the disposition that is the fruit of spiritual knowledge. That which it brings forth in us must be considered the ideal of spiritual science. All discord, all the disharmonies of life will fall away in comparison to the harmonious thoughts and feelings that attract a vigorous will. Thus, spiritual science proves itself not merely as knowledge and doctrine, but as the force of life and as the content of our soul. When it is understood in this way, then it will be able to work in life in such a way that it liberates people from all worries and cares. And this is how it must work in our time, for it owes its existence not to arbitrariness, but to the realization that it is necessary.
Those individuals who have progressed far beyond the ordinary existence of human beings, the masters of wisdom and the harmony of emotions, have recognized that spiritual science must flow into our culture if it is not to wither. Spiritual science is a new lifeblood, and humanity must be supplied with new lifebloods from time to time. Spiritual science is a necessary movement in our time.
