When the young green sprouts up and all spring shoots awaken, then the feeling awakens within us that the slumbering seed of the spirit will awaken in us.—Rudolf Steiner

As the earth comes to life and the sunlight flows through nature, our life of feeling awakens. The light warms our lonely, winter thinking as we emerge from winter isolation. With a sense of clarity we, like flowers blooming, begin to open to the world of the senses.

Every Easter, we have the opportunity to resurrect our souls. The lower self of personal desires and wills can begin to "forget itself" as this verse says and remember its greater, true being, its sense of I AM. We can align our will with the will of the universal "I AM" and join the one song of creation in the harmony of the spheres. The discordant demands of the individual fee themselves to find the essence of being human.

Practice the Calendar verses to entrain yourself with the rhythms of the seasons. Together, we will radiate these forces out into society through our moral words and deeds of brotherly love.

Rudolf Steiner's verses for the 52 weeks of the anthroposophical calendar are here on our website, together with Rudolf Steiner's original German text and several other translations: Rudolf Steiner, The Calendar of the Soul.
