Lecture Three

Es entspricht alle subjektive Gesetzmäßigkeit unserer Organe der objektiven, aus der sie extrahiert ist.

All subjective regularity of our organs corresponds to the objective one from which it is extracted.

Seetiere, bei denen das Auge noch nicht entwickelt ist, empfinden doch Licht und Dunkelheit. Sie haben Lichtempfindung durch einen Nervenknoten; erst allmählich entwickelt sich der Sehnerv, der die Lichtempfindung zum Gehirn führt, wodurch sie als Farbe wahrgenommen wird.

Sea animals, in which the eye is not yet developed, nevertheless sense light and darkness. They have light sensation through a nerve node; only gradually does the optic nerve develop, carrying the light sensation to the brain, whereby it is perceived as color.

Unsere astralen Vorfahren hatten noch keine ausgebildeten Schorgan, sie hatten nur ein astrales Wahrnehmungsorgan, mit dem sie die Farbe unmittelbar fühlten, sie waren noch eins mit dem, was sie wahrnahmen, und lebten mit der Farbe, die sie fühlend wahrnahmen.

Our astral ancestors did not yet have developed organs of sight, they had only an astral organ of perception with which they directly felt the color, they were still one with what they perceived, and lived with the color they felt.

Alle Entwicklung ist Absonderung. Zuerst [sind das Auge und das Rot] in ungetrennter Einheit. Dann sondert sich das Leben in Wahrnehmung und Sein. Der Mensch kann nicht objektiv wahrnehmen, was er subjektiv nicht als Illusion aus sich heraus wieder produzieren kann. Alles, was außerhalb ist, ist auch in dem Menschen. Er ist nur ein abgesonderter Teil der Außenwelt, der das, was außen ist, in sich hineingezogen hat.

All development is differentiation. At first, the eye and the color red, for example, are in undifferentiated unity. Then life separates itself into perception and being. Man cannot objectively perceive what he cannot subjectively produce again as illusion out of himself. Everything that is outside is also in the human being. He is only a separated part of the outside world, which draws into himself what is outside.

Unsere astralen Vorfahren der ersten Runden waren dort, wo sie wahrnahmen. Wir Menschen der vierten Runde nehmen dort wahr, wo wir sind.

Our astral ancestors of the first rounds were there perceiving. We humans of the fourth round perceive where we are.

Alle Entwicklung ist Absonderung. Zuerst sind das Auge und das Rot in ungetrennter Einheit.

All development is differentiation. First, the eye and the color red are in an undivided unity.
