Man hörte immer von Alchemisten, die Gold machen wollten. Im achtzehnten und neunzehnten Jahrhundert wurde mit den Geheimnissen der Alchemisten ein Verrat getrieben, das Goldmachen kam in Verruf.
Der Mensch atmet reine Luft ein, um sein blaurotes Blut in Lebensblut zu verwandeln, er atmet Sauerstoff ein und verwandelt ihn in giftigen Kohlenstoff, der tötet. Bei der Pflanze ist es umgekehrt. Wenn der Mensch in der geschilderten Art an sich arbeitet, erzeugt er, was man den Stein der Weisen nennt, die vierte Stufe der Rosenkreuzer-Schulung:
1. Studium.
2. Imaginative Erkenntnis.
3. Das Lesen der okkulten Schrift.
4. Rhythmischer Atmungsprozess (Stein der Weisen).
5. Entsprechung zwischen Mikro- und Makrokosmos.
6. Hineinleben in den Makrokosmos.
7. Gottseligkeit.
Jedem Glied im menschlichen Organismus entspricht etwas in der Natur, in der Welt. Ein Ausspruch von Paracelsus: Die Welt ist ein auseinandergelegter Mensch, der Mensch eine zusammengezogene Welt.
Zur Zeit, als der Mars seinen Einfluss auf die Erde ausübte, entstand das Herz, ihm entspricht der Löwe; das Herz würde sich raubtierartig steigern, bliebe es sich selbst überlassen. Früher bewegte sich der Mensch schwimmend-schwebend, die Hände sind seine Arbeitsorgane geworden und stehen unter dem geistigen Einfluss der Venus. Was innen ist, ist außen. Alle Zusammensetzungen sind Buchstaben und Worte, ein Entsprechen von Makrokosmos und Mikrokosmos. Durch Schulung lebt sich der Mensch ein in den Makrokosmos. Das Herz beleuchtet das innere geistige Wesen. Könnte man hinabsteigen in das Innere, würde man zum Beispiel die Gruppenseele des Löwen sehen. Der Blutlauf wird anders, wenn der Mensch anders atmet. Wenn das Herz umgestaltet wird, kommt es in lebendige Beziehung zu der geistigen Welt. Wenn sich das Ich des Menschen entwickelt, lernt er, Glieder einzeln zu studieren und den Makrokosmos zu kennen; man lernt in sich erleben, was zur Zeit des Erdenanfangs geschah. Alles hängt innerlich zusammen.
Auf der siebten Stufe fühlt man die durch die Welt wehenden Kräfte der Gottseligkeit. Die Götter hatten die Gottseligkeit am Anfang unserer Entwicklung, der Mensch wird sie am Ende haben. Er wird den Kelch des Heiligen Gral entwickeln.
Alles ging durch das Wort hervor; durch das Wort, den Logos, wurde die Welt. Der Mensch ist das Fleisch gewordene Wort Christi. In Ihm verstanden die Evangelisten das Wort. Und Er wird wiederkommen, wenn die Zeit für Ihn vorbereitet ist. Johannes, sein Verkündiger, erscheint, wenn die Tage am längsten sind. Er muss untergehen, als die Geistessonne erscheint.
