L. The Task of the Second Half of Development
The connection of the individual with the whole development is now becoming clearer. We now distinguish:
1. the course of life between birth and death
2. the stay in Kamaloka
3. the stay in Devachan – with a) rupic, that is, lower mental and b) arupic.
Every human being, even an undeveloped one, enters Arupa for a short time. So we have four states. These correspond exactly to the four states of the planetary body, both when descending and when returning.
While the whole development of humanity before it became physical went through three states, we can say: All beings that came into consideration were
1. in the higher Devachan,
2. alternately on the upper and lower,
3. on the earth in four states.
Since in the next round there will no longer be a mineral kingdom, everything will be alive, and there will be no alternation between birth and death. There will be continuous life. The alternation of birth and death will no longer occur, and in its place there will only be alternation between good and evil. There may still be an alternation between the higher states; what is Kamaloka will be the lowest state. Differentiation of today, that now is only Kamaloka; but in the fifth round still physical.
Just as every person in the Kamaloka is formed plastically in the astral, with vices and virtues, so will he be on earth. So that during the fifth round the Kamaloka will be completely earthly. There will still be change, although not birth and death, but change between the astral and the mental. It will be possible for a person to withdraw from the mental every now and then, when the measure of his evil is so full that he can enter this higher state. As a rule, once someone has worked off everything, he no longer needs to return. So we pass into the devachanic state by ourselves, and only those who have brought so much evil with them that they have not found the opportunity to redeem it are eliminated in the fifth round.
Those who go along will come to the sixth round, where everything that is mental is acted out. There is then no possibility of doing evil, the highest animal nature lives itself out.
The task of the sixth round is to shape everything that is organized in the mind in a harmonious way. Everything is separated from each other, what is logical and what is illogical. So that only what is absolutely logical comes into the seventh round. An incorrect thought sounds like an incorrect rhythm, like an incorrect shape, and is destroyed by itself. That is why the occultist says: anything that is brought over into the sixth round as a lie, as untruth, means the being's suicide. Here already wrong action is self-destruction, in the sixth round wrong thinking is self-destruction. And so it follows that the earth winnows out everything that is untrue and brings only truth into the seventh round.
In the fourth round, karmic accounts have been settled. In the fifth, something remains and is separated into the eighth sphere. At most, only the untrue can be taken over, and it destroys itself. Thus, the seventh state becomes bliss, which goes over as a seed to the new planet.
You see that we are dealing with continuous purification in the second half of the earth's development. The only thing that remains is what cannot be affected by the four things just mentioned, that which goes over to the next development: the degree of development. One being may have lived a little richer and more substantial a life and have little in karma, another abundantly. The degree cannot be changed. Those who had accumulated much that was ugly had to create balance through great plastic power. The beings come over with different degrees of perfection, just as the Pitris came here. Nothing that is fulfilled in the moon has come over to us, but only what has gone through its degrees of development.
L. Die Aufgabe der Zweiten Hälfte der Entwicklung
Der Zusammenhang des einzelnen Menschen mit der ganzen Entwicklung wird nun durchsichtiger. Wir unterscheiden nun:
1. Lebenslauf zwischen Geburt und Tod
2. Aufenthalt in Kamaloka
3. Aufenthalt in Devachan — mit a) rupischen, das heißt niederen mentalen und b) arupischen.
Jeder Mensch, selbst ein unentwickelter Mensch, betritt auf kurze Zeit Arupa. So hätten wir vier Zustände. Diese entsprechen genau den vier Zuständen auch des Planetenkörpers, beim Niederstieg wie beim Rückgang.
Während die ganze Menschheitsentwicklung bevor sie physisch wurde, durch drei Zustände durchgegangen ist, können wir sagen: Alle Wesen, die in Betracht kamen, waren
1. im höheren Devachan,
2. abwechselnd auf dem oberen und unteren,
3. auf der Erde in vier Zuständen.
Da in der nächsten Runde nicht mehr das Mineralreich sein wird, alles in lebendiger Art, wird ein Wechsel zwischen Geburt und Tod nicht sein. Es wird fortwährendes Leben sein. Der Wechsel von Geburt und Tod wird nicht mehr auftreten, und an seiner Stelle wird nur Wechsel zwischen gut und böse sein. Es kann noch ein Wechsel zwischen den höheren Zuständen eintreten; das was Kamaloka ist, wird tiefster Zustand sein. Unterscheidung von heute, dass jetzt nur Kamaloka ist; in der fünften Runde aber noch physisch.
Wie heute jeder Mensch im Kamaloka astral plastisch gebildet wird, mit Lastern und Tugenden, so wird er auf Erden sein. Sodass während der fünften Runde das Kamaloka vollkommen irdisch sein wird. Ein Wechsel wird noch da sein, obgleich nicht Geburt und Tod, sondern Wechsel zwischen astral und mental. Es wird möglich sein, dass der Mensch sich hin und wieder zurückzieht vom Mentalen, wenn das Maß seines Bösen so voll ist, dass er in diesen höheren Zustand eintreten kann. In der Regel wird es so sein, dass, wenn jemand alles ausgetragen hat, er nicht mehr zurückzukehren braucht. Sodass wir von selbst in den devachanischen Zustand übergehen und nur diejenigen, die so viel des Bösen mitgebracht haben, dass sie nicht die Möglichkeit gefunden haben, es abzutragen, die werden in der fünften Runde ausgeschieden.
Diejenigen, die mitgehen, kommen in die sechste Runde, wo alles, was mental ist, ausgelebt wird. Es gibt dann nicht die Möglichkeit, Böses zu tun, die höchste tierische Art lebt sich aus.
Die Aufgabe der sechsten Runde ist es, alles dasjenige noch harmonisch zu gestalten, was im Mentalen organisiert ist. Alles wird voneinander geschieden, was logisch und was unlogisch ist. Sodass in die siebte Runde nur das kommt, was absolut logisch ist. Ein unrichtiger Gedanke tönt als unrichtiger Rhythmus, als unrichtige Gestalt, und wird von selbst vernichtet. Daher sagt der Okkultist: Alles das, was als Lüge, als Unwahrheit in die sechste Runde hinübergebracht wird, bedeutet einen Selbstmord des Wesens. Unrichtiges Tun ist schon hier Selbstvernichtung, in der sechsten Runde ist schon unrichtiges Denken Selbstvernichtung. Und daher folgt, dass die Erde alles Unwahre ausschaltet und nur lauter Wahrheit in die siebte Runde hineinbringt.
In der vierten Runde haben sich karmische Konti ausgeglichen. In der fünften ist etwas geblieben, es wird in die achte Sphäre abgeschieden. Hinübergenommen kann werden höchstens das Unwahre, das sich selbst vernichtet. So wird der siebte Zustand die Seligkeit, die als Samenkorn hinübergeht auf den neuen Planeten.
Sie sehen, dass wir es in der zweiten Hälfte der Erdenentwicklung zu tun haben mit fortwährender Reinigung. Das einzige, was nun bleibt, ist, was nicht berührt werden kann von den vier Dingen, die eben genannt wurden, das, was hinüber geht zur nächsten Entwicklung: der Grad der Entwicklung. Ein Wesen kann ein wenig reicher und inhaltvoller sein Leben gelebt haben und wenig im Karma haben, andere reichlich. Der Grad kann nicht geändert werden. Wer viel Hässliches aufgespeichert hatte, musste durch große plastische Kraft den Ausgleich schaffen. Die Wesen kommen mit verschiedenen Graden der Vollkommenheit hinüber - wie die Pitris hierherkamen. Nichts, was im Monde erfüllt ist, ist zu uns hinübergekommen, sondern nur, was seine Grade der Entwicklung durchgemacht hat.
