100. Theosophy and Rosicrucianism: Supplementary Thoughts on the Law of Reincarnation and Karma 23 Jun 1907, Kassel
Translator Unknown

This problem is discussed more fully in numbers 30, 32 and 34 of the magazine “Lucifer-Gnosis” 1 all the other remedies, even those advanced from high quarters, suffer from the blemish of amateurishness, for modern men know nothing whatever of the higher worlds.
The ancient Persian religion, with its Ormuzd and Ahriman cult may be traced back to this. Thus we see that the ancient peoples had very significant conceptions in connection with the sun's passage through the single signs of the Zodiac.
171. Inner Impulses of Evolution: Lecture III 18 Sep 1916, Dornach
Translated by Gilbert Church, F. Kozlik, Stewart C. Easton

The ahrimanic powers sought to “save” humanity, however—I am now speaking as Ahriman thought of it—from the god Tezcatlipoca. Another spirit was set up against him who, for the Western Hemisphere, had much in common with the spirit whom Goethe described as Mephistopheles.
In this way Vitzliputzli was able to win again for earthly life all those souls who, as indicated, had already received the urge to follow Lucifer and leave the earth. And because our humanity had to repeat that epoch, which is characterized by the difference between good and evil, the fire religion, the Parsee religion, the doctrine of Ormuzd and Ahriman emerged. This precedes our history as a Persian cultural period. The concept of “good and evil” lived on in the religion of Zarathustra.
273. The Problem of Faust: The Romantic Walpurgis-Night 10 Dec 1916, Dornach
Translated by George Adams

Faust can perceive in this way. But Mephistopheles, that is Ahriman, as an Ahrimanic being has no understanding of the present earth; he belongs relate to what has lagged behind, and hence he feels no particular pleasure in the Spring.
According to legend Lilith was Adam's first wife and the mother of Lucifer. Thus we see here how Mephistopheles is making use of the luciferic arts at his disposal, but how something lower also enters in that, in the following speech amounts almost to a temptation.
